Paver sealing cost in Jacksonville: typical ranges and FAQ
These are typical published ranges, not quotes. Your price is set by the independent company that inspects your pavers.
Typical published price ranges (not quotes)
The figures below summarize what several Jacksonville-area paver companies publish on their own websites for 2026, so treat them as planning ranges.
| Job | Typical published range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Routine reseal of pavers in good shape | about $1.50–$2.00 per sq ft | Stable joints, light cleaning, no old coating problems |
| Standard clean, re-sand and seal | about $1.50–$2.50 per sq ft | The most commonly published Jacksonville range |
| Travertine or natural stone | often starts around $1.60 per sq ft | Stone-safe cleaners and penetrating sealer |
| Stripping failed old sealer first | adds roughly $1–$2 per sq ft | Extra visit and drying days before resealing |
For example, at those rates a 600 sq ft driveway in good condition would land somewhere around $900–$1,200 before any extras such as stripping or repairs.
What moves the number up or down
Size is the starting point, and small walkways often cost more per square foot because setup time is spread over less area.
Heavy mildew, oak tannin, rust from irrigation and oil spots all add cleaning time and specialty chemicals.
A wet-look or color-enhancing finish, extra coats and anti-slip additive usually cost more than a single natural-look coat.
Releveling sunken areas or replacing broken pavers is normally priced as a separate line item.
Florida humidity and the rainy season
Sealer needs clean, dry pavers, and in Northeast Florida the summer pattern of afternoon thunderstorms makes that hard to guarantee.
The local rainy season generally runs from about June through September, and the Atlantic hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30.
Pavers can look dry on top while the bedding sand underneath is still wet, so careful crews wait after cleaning before they seal.
The best time of year to seal
Late fall through spring is usually the most dependable stretch, with lower humidity, milder temperatures and fewer pop-up storms.
Many local companies treat roughly October through April as their main sealing season, so booking early helps.
Whatever the month, the sealer manufacturer's temperature range and rain-free window are what the installer should follow.
Efflorescence: the white haze on concrete pavers
Efflorescence is a white, chalky deposit of mineral salts carried to the surface as water moves through concrete.
It is most common on newer pavers and usually fades over time, but it should be cleaned off with a product made for it before sealing.
Sealing over efflorescence traps the haze under the coating, and it is a different problem from sealer blushing, which is cloudiness caused by moisture during application.
More questions
Are these prices quotes?
No. They are typical ranges published by Jacksonville-area companies, gathered so you know roughly what to expect. Only the company that inspects your pavers can quote.
Why do two quotes for the same driveway differ so much?
Companies differ in how much prep they include, which sealer they use and how many coats they apply. Ask each one to list cleaning, sanding, sealer type and coats in writing.
Is there a minimum job size?
Many contractors have a minimum charge for small jobs. Ask about it if you only need a front walk or a small patio done.
How long before I can walk or drive on sealed pavers?
It depends on the product and the weather, but foot traffic often comes back sooner than cars. Your installer will give you the times for the sealer they apply.
Do you charge homeowners anything?
No. Requesting quotes through this site is free. Participating companies may pay us for referrals.
